A gated community is a residential community or housing estate with strictly controlled entrances. They have enclosed boundaries of walls and fences. They are usually manned by private security guards and are often home to high-value properties. Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills Estate, and The Springs are examples of gated communities in Dubai. The residents stay within the community for most of their daily activities. An increasing number of people find them to be an appealing alternative to residing in non-gated communities.

Safety, security, a sense of community, and peacefulness are some of the benefits of living in a gated community. In this blog post, we shall discuss the advantages of living in a gated community.

1. Safety And Security

Gated communities usually have fixed entrance and exit points that are either manned by security guards or have electronic security. This means that only verified residents and guests can enter the community. Most of them keep a record of visitors who enter and exit the area. The security check point ensures that trespassers do not get anywhere further than the gate. They have surveillance systems all over the community that helps keep an eye on all ongoing activities. With only residents and guests allowed through the gates, the likelihood of encountering crime is greatly reduced.

2. Privacy

Strictly controlled access to the community and no through traffic gives residents a greater sense of privacy. Facilities such as golf courses, tennis courts, clubhouses, and swimming pools, beaches are all private.

3. A Sense Of Community

The controlled communal facilities help you to get to know your neighbours, which results in a sense of familiarity and trust among the residents. Also, neighbourhood parties, sports, social functions, and entertainment events foster a sense of community.

4. Integrated Lifestyle

Gated communities usually offer facilities such as a golf course, tennis courts, football pitches, swimming pools, gyms and so much more. These provide entertainment and social interactions for residents and are usually maintained by the neighbourhood management association. This is a perk you would benefit from a gated community living which would otherwise cost an exorbitant amount of money when you are living elsewhere. Having such a well-integrated community with such shared facilities defines a comfortable luxury living.

5. No Solicitors

The fact that entry is restricted into the community makes it a safe place from solicitations. This increased sense of freedom and control is a great plus to have and can save you from the havoc and frustration that come from solicitors such as salesmen or unauthorized people asking for donations.

6. No Traffic Or Speeding Vehicles

Living in a gated community brings a wonderful sense of peace and quietness because of no through traffic to contend with. The only traffic comes from community residents and tends to be minimal. In many gated communities, cycling and golf carts are the vehicles of choice for local journeys.  This tends to lessen their carbon footprint.

7. A Safe Haven For Children

The safety and security in gated communities are especially good for the little children with aspirations for exploring. Since there are no open roads with speeding traffic, it is safer to allow your kids to play outdoors. With communal areas set for the kids to play, it is also easier for parents to monitor them.

8. Greener Environment

Gated communities have a greener environment in general. They have pocket parks with trees and shrubs and these green open spaces ensure you are constantly breathing clean air. Once again, with less traffic moving within the area, gated communities are far less vulnerable to pollution.
