Dubai Downtown

Burj Khalifa

It is currently the tallest building in the world. The skyscraper was initially known as Burj Dubai before its inauguration in 2010. It is 829,8m (2717 ft) tall with 163 floors. It features 160 habitable levels, 57 elevators, and 8 escalators. It has one of the tallest observation decks on the 124th floor named the “top”.

Dubai Opera

This is a 2000 seat, multi-format performing arts center located in the Opera district in Downtown Dubai. The building is a contemporary architectural masterpiece. The walls are made of glass and steel, which reflect the water from the Burj Khalifa lake. It was designed to resemble a ‘dhow’, a traditional sailing vessel, in which the bow of the structure houses the opera’s main stage, orchestra, and seating, while the elongated hull has waiting areas, taxi drop-off areas, and parking.

Dubai Fountain

This is one of the famous landmark located in Burj Park Dubai. It stretches over 275 meters in length. It features a dancing fountain and is part of the man-made Burj Khalifa lake near the Burj Khalifa Tower. It is the largest performance water fountain in the world, performing to a wide variety of songs. There are 6600 super lights and 25 colour projectors that give an illusion of more than a thousand expressions of water. Its powerful water nozzles shoot over 22,000 gallons of water to impressive heights.

Dubai Mall

This is the world’s largest shopping mall, entertainment zone, and leisure destination. It houses the biggest indoor aquarium, the Dubai Aquarium. Inside the aquarium, there are more than 140 species of aquatic animals, along with sandy tiger sharks and rays. The Dubai Mall was built on an area covering over 12 million square feet.

Transportation

Downtown Dubai is located along Sheikh Zayed Road. It is close to the Dubai Mall/ Burj Khalifa Metro station. There is also the Dubai Trolley, the first hydrogen-powered trolley that travels along Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. One can use any type of public transport including the metro, buses, and taxis.
